Mastering New Skills and Embrace Challenges
Scouts rise to the challenge of learning new skills with enthusiasm, embracing a spirit of ongoing growth and personal development. Each week, Scouts come together in groups called Troops to take on the small but mighty mission of changing the world. Being a Scout means exploring life on your own terms making the most of every opportunity, wherever you are and whoever you are. With the support of new friends, you’ll build the skills to face life’s challenges and experience adventures you won’t find in a classroom or at home.
Going on adventures
Whether close to home or exploring far-off places, Scouts dive into thrilling adventures that spark curiosity and a spirit of discovery. The focus is always on getting involved and developing as individuals rather than meeting rigid standards. Along the way, Scouts can earn a wide range of badges and awards that celebrate their achievements, recognising the unique talents and experiences each young person brings to their journey. At the heart of it all are the lasting friendships formed through shared challenges and unforgettable experiences.
Exploring the world
Scouting is all about discovering the world on your own terms and making the most of what you have, wherever you are and whoever you are. Alongside new friends and with the support of trained volunteers, you’ll build skills to help you face life’s challenges and take on adventures you’d never experience at home or school. Driven by natural curiosity, Scouts venture beyond the familiar, exploring new places and gaining a deeper understanding of the world’s many cultures and communities.
Scouts are always ready to lend a hand. Whether it’s helping a neighbour, raising money for a local cause, or standing alongside someone who needs a friend, Scouts believe in doing what they can to make life better for others. It's part of the Scout promise to help other people and it's something that runs through everything they do. From collecting donations for food banks to volunteering at community events, Scouts learn the importance of kindness, empathy, and teamwork. They discover that even the smallest action can have a big impact. It might be helping a new member feel welcome, looking out for someone on camp, or organising a fundraiser to support those in need. Every act of support helps build stronger communities and more confident, caring young people. Scouts support each other too. They cheer each other on during challenges, share in successes and setbacks, and learn that together they can achieve so much more than they can alone. Because in Scouts, no one is left behind. Everyone is valued. And everyone has something to give.
Scouts never take on the adventure alone.
They’re supported by a team of dedicated, trained volunteers who create a safe and encouraging environment for learning and growth. Together, they form a strong community that helps every young person discover their potential. The spirit of Scouting inspires young people to aim high, build confidence, and develop the resilience they need to follow their ambitions, whatever they may be.
