District Birthday Bash Sleepover

Celebrating: 5 Years of Squirrels, 40 Years of Beavers, and 110 Years of Cubs

The District Birthday Bash Sleepover at the Raich Carter Centre was a fantastic celebration for our youngest members, bringing together Squirrels, Beavers, and Cubs from across the district for a night of fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories. This event was extra special as we celebrated three major milestones in Scouting history, 5 years of Squirrels, 40 years of Beavers, and 100 years of Cubs.

The evening began with an exciting welcome as young people arrived full of energy and ready to celebrate. The hall was decorated for the occasion, creating a real party atmosphere from the start. Leaders and volunteers helped everyone settle in before the activities got underway.

Throughout the night, they enjoyed a wide range games, team challenges, sports activities, and plenty of laughter. Squirrels, Beavers, and Cubs had the chance to mix with other groups from around the district, make new friends, and share in the celebrations together.

Later in the evening, everyone came together for the birthday celebrations, enjoying party treats and joining in with a camp fire and Videos before bed time. The smiles on everyones faces showed just how much the event meant to those attending.

As the celebrations came to an end, the young people settled down for the sleepover, excited to spend the night with friends in a safe and welcoming environment. The next morning began with breakfast before headed home tired but happy after such a brilliant event.


The Birthday Bash Sleepover was a huge success and perfectly captured the fun, friendship, and community spirit of Sunderland District. A huge thank you goes to all the leaders, volunteers, and organisers who worked so hard to make the event happen, and to all the young people whose enthusiasm made it such a memorable celebration.
